V7 C-S Suspension Thread

10-20mm is what most do. So drop it 12mm and see what you think. FYI one leg at a time. I do mine on a center stand with a scissors jack under the engine.

Thanks, went for 10mm and was part of a bigger job - I lowered the fork after installing the Bitubo KB1 springs and preload adjusters, also put fresh 7.5 fork oil.

I'm a bit puzzled as I went for a short 15 miles ride just to see how it rides - the steering is more responsive at slow speeds which is nice.

However, at over 40 Mph I noticed the steering stiffens and is quite hard to turn which is a concern..

Now I don't know what exactly caused it, was it:
- the fact that I lowered the front end
- the rebound being slower (old oil was dirty/contaminated and I've found rather huge air gaps in both legs - >150mm vs 120mm suggested in the manual; I have leveled the new oil at 135mm air gap from the top.)
- the spring being on the loose side since I've reduced the preload

Any thoughts?

I don’t know if it was because I had not ridden the V7 for a month or more while I procrastinated about sending the Gauge cluster away , or because I got used to riding the other bikes - But getting back on the V7 with the Front dropped 10mm and the back Sag adjusted a bit, it did indeed seem to tip into turns a bit better , and give me more confidence cornering than before.

I know Todd has been telling us to do this , but I didn’t think I would be able to tell the difference as a Rookie …

Thanks Dad 👍
