What did you do to your Moto Guzzi today?

Today I moved my 1993 Lemans Mk V across in the shed and parked a 1942 Indian 741/ 500cc beside it , just to keep it company . I figured a nice little companion for the Guzzi and the V Rod would be happy with a "Little Indian" in there as well.

Removed the speedo clock from my 06 G11 and took off the lense, stuck it on the kitchen radiator for a few hours,then drilled four 2 mm holes in the back of the clock . Fitted the lense using silicone sealant , back on the bike, then out for a test ride. Marvellous, can read the trip properly for the first time in months without beads of condensation obstructing the view .

Today was the first dry sunny day we've had for a few weeks and the Breva has been sitting in the garage for some time all mucked up, so she got a good wash down and then I went out for a 60 mile run round. I found some of the country roads with standing water in places so it got a second wash of the day when I got home.

Before I did the Guzzi I tackled my other Italian babe with a bucket of soapy water, scrubs up well, doesn't she? :D

Snow normally doesn't stop me. I had the Daytona out after a snow back in December.

We've just gotten hammered the last few weeks and the freezing rain between the snow storms didn't help. I guess it doesn't count as actually "doing something" to it but the snow has kept me inside continuing my research into a 17" wheel conversion for the Daytona.
 
Tried to get out today on my G11, freewheeled it down the lane to avoid waking the neighbours ( it was 7.45 am on a Sunday) Bastard wouldn't start due to a flat battery, pushed it back to the garage , all of a hundred yards and got the jump leads out, still no go, battery is toast. Keep it on an optimate all the time and last used it three weeks ago when I did about 200 miles, but things don't last forever, battery is 8 years old. Consolation prize was I have a bee hive in my garden and they were all out flying today , even though its the middle of winter, I love watching them.
 
Took the CalVin for a ride up to Newcomb's the other day, and then rode my V7 Sport around yesterday just to give it some exercise. Went with a friend who has a '93 Daytona 1000 and we traded off for awhile. I fell in love with his Daytona - what a great motor.
 
I took my Tenni Green Griso out for a a couple of hours yesterday. Briefly saw 136 mph on the speedo. :lol:
 
Tried to get melted plastic off my pipes! Hot pipes and heat gun seem to almost do it. Then I rode a bit to make it worth the work.
 
Hi,

a little update from my work at my G12.
The swingarm is back in place, bearings okay, new grease into them.
The symetric headers from a Stelvio is made to fit onto my G12.
The oil cooler can be attached at the front, just waiting for a few banjo bolts for fitting the oil lines.
I saw a little problem at my rear shock :ohmy: :

So I went to a suspension specialist, also with my front fork.
That damping cushon can be replaced by a new one.
The shockabsorber will be checked, cleaned, rebuild, damping checked and modified if
neccesary. Also a hydraulic preload will be attached to easy the change of spring settings.

Polishing the Stelvio headers is a hell of a job.
The surface is too coarse so I have to sanding them for some hours before polishing.
It's too expensive to bring them to a pro, around $300
The result after around 15 hours work... :pinch:

Put 235 miles on the V7R Wednesday down in the twisties around Temecula. I need 100 more to make 11,000. I would've done it today, but it 's raining in Socal...finally! So the bike mopes in the garage with a full tank and no chance of going out and playing.

After I'd put the seat unit, side panels, belly pan and tank back on my Yam, then pumped the tyres up in prep for a blast on it tomorrow, I checked the tyre pressures on the Breva too! :D

I experimented with pipes today and fitted a pair of short reverse cone mega's on the Cali EV, it ran well and sounded a treat but is a touch too loud on over-run, enough to attract the attention of the cops I reckon so maybe I'll try something else. There is a place over here that does replicas of the old Dunstall pipes with the red ends and as they're 10 inches longer I reckon I'll give them a go :)
 
I went to the Wednesday MEBC group breakfast. Small group today and chose not to go on their ride, so headed home up Deluz. Lotsa water and mud across the road in spots. Tried to go over Ortega hwy, but road work was going to put a dozen or so cages in front of me so I turned around and mostly did the I-15/91 thing and the traffic sucked there too.
Got up to Carbon Cyn and the Goose started running on one cylinder again. The last time it did this,a plug connector had broken. This one has the same symptoms, so I'm assuming it's the same ting again. I gotta go out and check it shortly. Letting it cool off a bit. But, it did get me home!

Hi,

Here in the Netherlands, Europe, we enjoy very good weather for this time of the year. B)
Last year in the beginning of March, we had cold weather with snow, slippery and salty roads.
Today we had bright sunny weather with 20° C (68° F)!! :woohoo:
So I worked a bit more at my G12... and went on the road the first time this year.
With my modified exhaust system and oilcooler in the front.

Cleaned it up, topped up the tire pressure, checked the oils. Riding tomorrow!
 
Still lacking my Stelvio (MG please send the bloody bits, got holiday booked in September) so went out on my own on the 1100 as I don't work on Mondays.
Usually have the missus on the back, must admit I had a great time on my own. I do 99% of my riding 2 up, quite a different bike chucking it about on my own. I was surprised how agile it is considering it's got a slightly longer wheelbase than a bus. The only other long ride I did on my own was picking it up from Angelsey when I bought it, but the tyre pressures were low and the suspension all on the softest settings so the handling was poor.
Went from North London to Brightlingsea on the Essex coast, up to Sudbury in Suffolk, onto Bury St Edmonds down to Haverhill up again to Cambridge and then down to Bishops Stortford and home.
Really great to get out again nearly 7 hours of big fun, just picked up the start of the rush hour(s) on the last stretch.
Road of the day A143 Bury St Ed to Haverhill.
