V7-850 Mods Thread

I fitted mine without drilling using a high grip silicon. Works a treat. Did the same on my tiger 800 which had the extender on for 10 years in the same fashion without issue.

I thought about that too. I just don`t have a glue ( :D ) what kind a glue should use and the selection is probably different in every country. Of course mechanical attachment would be nice safety backup but no way I´m going to drill the stock fender. Worst thing that could happen is that the extension drops under the rear tire and just flews away. I don`t think it could cause lost of control or anything.

I use two-part epoxy glue on mine. Just be sure to rough-up the mating surfaces with sandpaper before gluing. Use several clamps to hold the pieces together until the glue sets.

Here in Ireland we have a variety. One is called "no more nails", but I used "Tec 7" - comes in a variety of colours and transparent and is waterproof. As above I took the front off and clamped overnight. Rock solid.

We have "One more nails" too but in here it is only recommend for indoor use and I used it a lot in work and have to say that it isn`t good stuff :D

Puig pentru că este mai înalt. De aceea l-am schimbat, dar pe viitor, pe drum lung, vreau să adaug un deflector.
Since the Puig windshield support is a bit unstable, I also took the supports from the old windshield and adapted them to the new one!

Battery replacement time. Not sure it really counts as a mod.
It was starting to sound a little tired on starting so replaced with the BS lithium unit as per Todd's store.
Going from just under 4.7kg to 960g. Being much smaller and having an eye for extra storage, rather than use the packing supplied I made a sheet aluminium rectangle for the battery to sit on and now my extra fuse box wiring/aux light relay live under the battery. Starts much more lively now.

V7 in typical finnish country side. Funny thing how the bike looks so shiny in the photo although it`s covered in dust after 400km ( ~250miles). So far;

- Tank pads
- Removed dB-killers/baffles from Arrows
- UpMap
- Hepco&Becker C-bow system and their "Orbit" side cases
- Hepco&Becker rear rack
- Hepco&Becker engine protection

Next;
- SAS delete
- EVAP delete
- New turn signals & tail light

I just finished my last mod on my V7 850 special: a remap using UpMap. With Agustini short pipes (DB killers in) and the KN air filter installed, my bike now runs very smoothly.

Before remapping, riding my motorcycle was very uncomfortable after I changed the exhaust pipes. When cold starting, the engine would idle roughly for up to half a minute, and if you throttle up during this time, it would cause the engine to stall. Without throttling, the motorcycle would jerk forward when the clutch is in. The loss of low-end torque was serious, and acceleration slowed until the engine reached ~3500 RPM.

After remapping, there is no rough idling after a cold start and no jerking sensation when idling in gear. The low-end torque is back, and now I can smoothly feel the motorcycle's acceleration between ~1200 and ~3000 RPM.
