All my life I have waited for you…❤️

HUGE CONGRATS SCOTT!
I just missed the reasonably priced ones ~20 years ago. My hope is to one day own the Dondolino I raced back in '03.

The funny thing is Mark had another beautiful 1952 on Bring a Trailer auction yesterday. I ran the bidding up to $27,750 and then the buyer went to $30k and I said “keep it”.

The seller was blown away the selling price due to my sincere effort to obtain it.

He then had a heart to heart with his wife as his health is seriously compromised by seizures and he called me and offered my this one which was the much nicer one he owned for years and had intended to keep for himself. It is 2x the first one shown here it quality and condition. Mark says it is the nicest one he has ever seen and I believe him. The original Italian Ministry of Transportation booklet from 1952, shows only 2 previous owners. I am number 3. She’s stunning and a daily rideable 72 year old Moto Guzzi.

Everybody I have spoken about these says they are so ridiculously overbuilt and will last forever with just basic care and maintenance.

Sunday rides to the airfield for breakfast just got a whole lot more interesting! 😆

Mine is an early 1952 which had the chromed tank. The Korean War caused chromium to become economically unavailable, so the factory switched to paint only.

So thrilled to have this.

Next year’s DGR is going to be something else for sure and I cannot wait to ride in to this years Vintage Bike Days at Mid-Ohio Racetrack in late July.

What fun!

Oh man, that right there is where it is at.
Congratulations.
It makes my new Stelvio seem, somehow ...less mechanical.
That bike, a 45 ACP and a leather jacket - I would drop everything tomorrow to go on a 2 year Academic Sabbatical across the US, hitting every backroad in every State!

It is so apropos you say that because I just came back from a multi day trip of nothing but backroads with Bill Hagan, Vagrant, and many others. I cannot help but think that I want to do a trip like that on this. Minimalist to the extreme. What a delightful idea indeed.

You mean like the Vintage motorcycle cannonball run that goes from Portland Maine to Portland Or. ( motorcyclecannonball.com ). That would definitely be the ultimate bucket list adventure for a bike collector.

Never heard of this before. But then again I’ve never owned a vintage motorcycle. 😆

I was excited but when I went to their site, I got the impression that 72 years old was too “young” for this event. 😳

I think they are all near the 100 year old age or older. 🧐

The people or the bikes? :giggle:

Funny!

The bikes.

“In early September 2023, one hundred or so Motorcycle Cannonball riders will start a two-week journey across the United States on motorcycles built before 1933.”

I may very well still go on an excursion by myself.

Once I get her safely from Colorado to Ohio, and am able to do some local day rides and get a feel for her, I may start with some overnighters into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan or down South to New Orleans.

I don’t know. This is sll making me exceedingly giddy.

My mind is swimming with ideas and thoughts.

Thank you very much one and all. I’m now selling 3 of my bikes to thin the herd. Will be posting my beautiful 2V Norge for sale soon.
