UpMap Q&A

ok thanks, when many tuners remap the ECU they keep the lambda probes active claiming that there are no problems but rather they help to keep closed cycle petrol consumption low up to 3500 rpm

It would be a shame to keep working with the probes.
The slightly rich operation of these engines is so much more pleasant and especially at low revs, low opening.

certainly, but can't you set the control unit to operate a little richer but controlled by the lambda probes?

No, it would be really complicated to find and modify part of the program...
There are programmable probes, adaptable with an additional electronic box, it is expensive and complicated for very little interest compared to a just rich setting.
What is appreciable here is that there is no additional electronic box

On a 2020 v85tt I can’t use the PC6/AT. I’m doing the usual airbox/sas/exhaust mods. I understand that the UpMap tunes are not very good without that controller…has anyone else tuned an E4? What was your experience?

How many different maps there is for V7 850 E5 in the Upmap ? From website I got the feel that there would be only three options;
1. Improved for stock
2. with slip-ons (with db-killers)
3. with slip-ons (without db-killers)

I`m going to do SAS-delete, Evap delete, Mistral velocity stack, Slip-ons without killers (or just drill killers off from Arrows) so is the third option close enough for setup like that ?
Sooner or later I will remove all the catalytic converters which will probably make a big difference so is there an option for that ? BTW. Looks like Mistral is going to produce "straight" headers without cats for V7 850 at some point 👍 At least that`s what their IG-account hinted.

So with Upmap you can easily go back to stock map ? Does the Upmap store the stock map to file before updating new one or how the going back to stock is made ?

If MG releases new firmware for ecu does it overwrite the Upmap firmware ? And then I have to either run with MG provided stock (new) firmware or run Upmap provided (old) firmware ?

I don`t believe Upmap would cause any problems, but if problems occur (even because of something not fueling dependant) dealers&factory may easily try to refuse warranty because of the modding. I also doubt that many upgrades would come to stock firmware, it`s probably now as good as it gets.

Will you be purchasing from us? If not, Customer Support via UpMap.it - also see; up-map.it/en/f-a-q/

I haven`t yet decided where to buy or will I even buy Upmap. Depends pretty much about those questions.

Understood. I’m exhausted in acting as customer service for companies that I make very little with, as they continue to pull my ability to provide my work, or give it to them for free so they can profit from it. You will find UpMap to be largely unresponsive if you contact them directly. If you will be purchasing from us, email us directly via the Store (link at the top above).

with the UpMap retune after SAS delete kit. There is no loss of acceleration I was experiencing. Much improved. Very satisfied with the results.

Questions on UpMap and Maps to help resolve lost torque when OEM mufflers are replaced, including one for Agostini:

a) Would UpMap resolve the lost torque till 3.000rpm on acceleration and popping when downgearing the V7 E5 with Agostini Short Mufflers ? or
b) There is a need for more such as the SAS kit ?

UpMap site suggests two maps available,
- Aftermarket exhaust with db-killer
- Aftermarket exhaust without db-killer

Anyone used these maps without SAS kit or any other customization except the Agostini Short Mufflers and can share experience ?

It was only 2 days that i rode with Agostini and am back to OEM, which performs much better and consistenly delivering power.
