• Ciao Guest, The owner of this website and GTMotoCycles.com lost his home completely on the morning of January 8th in the L.A. Wildfire Storm. Most of his neighborhood is gone, and a few friends were killed along with their pets. The GTM SHOP and STORE are functioning normally, but we DEMAND EXTREME PATIENCE on orders as we are a SMALL business and Todd usually has his hands on nearly every order before it goes out. You can find more info on a post named L.A. Wildfires in the USA section. Our heart and best go out to everyone in this horrific disaster.

New (Used) 2007 Norge Added to the stable.

Scott, Does the previous owner know the code? Since winter is approaching, maybe the Dash and keys need to go to Carmo. I think they can reset the user code if you don't get lucky.

New (Used) 2007 Norge Added to the stable.

...is a bummer but not unfixable. The original purchaser bought this from a long defunct dealership in Illinois. Those idiots changed his user code and never bothered to write it down in his warranty book or owners manual. He gave me 2 keys. One is registered to the dash, and the other...

    Cutting new keys?

End of story here. Newly cut keys arrived a while back and they work fine. I found I only had to add the new keys and did not have to first change the user code from 00000. No problem. Sure is nice having three keys and not one! Thanks again for the tips and help.

    Cutting new keys?

Thanks John, I was going to correct his statement of "most." I would say most use the Service code. It's a no brainer.

    Cutting new keys?

Or just use the service/maintenance code as the user code. That way only 1 code to remember. The Breva11 Service manual in the downloads gives the procedure. Same for all CARC bikes.

    Cutting new keys?

...Most good lock shops can cut the keys but not all of them can do the programming. If the keys are factory Guzzi keys and you have the user code it can be done on the bike. I was not given the code when I bought my bike and the key shop couldn't copy the factory keys without it. They could...

    Cutting new keys?

you don't need two keys to change the user code, most people alter it to the last 5 digits of the VIN.

    Cutting new keys?

...cut them, or do you have to send them to a dealer like AF1? I only have one key and have ordered a pair more. My bike still gives me the "Remember to enter a user code" message and I think the PO told me he kept it on 00000. I don't want to touch anything until I get my new keys cut. Thanks.

V85tt wont start, security is issue

I will not candy coat this.Given the information you have provided (you do not know the user code and you do not have both keys), you are in a very terrible situation that is insanely expensive to remedy (think 4 digits of expensive, $X,XXX). There is no way around this. There is no quick...

    Lost my only key!

Correct. If the dash doesn't recognize the key it will ask for the user code. If you don't know the user code and you have both keys you can change the user code. I like to use the maintenance code, others the last 5 digits of the VIN. Personally I prefer to remember just one code. The...

    Lost my only key!

Key code is different from user code. The tag should be the code for cutting the key, but if a new key, you need the user code to program the key to the dash. These darn bikes have too many codes!!

Breva 1100 Inmmobiliser Antenna or Dashboard problem DSB 04

I have just acquired another Breva 1100 and changed the old user code back to 00000, this is so if I sell it there will be no confusion for the new owner, however i have now noticed that once i replaced the code with 00000 I get the alert to "change the user code". I think it doesn't like all...

Breva 1100 Inmmobiliser Antenna or Dashboard problem DSB 04

...ago I bought a Moto Guzzi Breva 1100 with 500 miles from a friend. With the 2 original keys (I think they are original). And the factory user code was 00000, I changed it to my own code without problem. The motorcycle had the service light ON all the time and I decided to change the engine...

prospective Norge owner and some questions

If you buy the Norge, be sure to get two keys and the user code from the current owner. BTW, The Norge is a great bike and good for many more miles. Read some of the mileage reports on this forum.

Where can I get a spare key made?

If the antenna for the transponder fails, you will need a user code to start the bike.

Where can I get a spare key made?

I dont need to set the code, its a backup key for emergency so i can start the bike if needed
  18. john zibell

Where can I get a spare key made?

You need to set a user code. Luckily one hadn't been set and you could use the default. See the Breva Service manual in the downloads for the procedure. Some use the maintenance code, or the last numbers of the VIN

    Key Cloning

Before sending Dash and Keys to Piaggio, my local dealer tried to get some very expert key cloner in Berkeley, CA who does cloning of keys for Ducati and other Italian bikes. He was able to clone the key but that didn't solve my problem of red triangle obviously. In the end dealer gave me those...

    Key Cloning

I have the 2D000004 keys, my user code has not been defined (win!), and I am not going to try to onboard a new key by myself. I've done it several times with other vehicles, but the downside seems bad on this bike! From what you've described, the issue arose when you attempted to onboard a new...
